Last Wednesday, the Tigers held their basketball practice of the season in the old RHS Gymnasium.

Rockdale is a new look team this year in almost every sense.

They have new head coach Marcus McNeil, who comes from Weimar after a 2019 regional appearance with the Wildcats. Rock-dale’s roster will also be entirely different from last year due to the graduation of key players Z ac Davis, Kelan Evans, Mason Monzingo, Ryker Z inn and Braden Moore.

However, they still have sophomore point guard Kobe Mitchell returning to the Úoor. Venior shoot0 ing guards Mekhi Crawford and J .J . Moreno are also back on the court.

They are scheduled to play their first game on Tuesday, Nov. 19, on the road against the Bartlett Bulldogs.

LADY TIGERS – Now that volleyball season has come to an end, Lady Tiger coach Meredith Caffey has her full team for practices to get ready for Friday’s home opener against Austin’s St. Dominic Savio.

Unlike the boys, Rock-dale only lost reserve K’Tacia Mayberry to graduation. Caffey has starting guards

Payton Miller and Anna Harmon back this season.

Posts Andrea Salazar and Karli Marburger are also back this season as are Amajahnae Valdez and Miah Beckwith are also back this season.

Guards J ena Locklin and Y arely Navarro are not playing this season but Caffey expects things from sophomore Brandi Breithaupt and freshman Saige Robertson and J ulie Bartsch.

Tip-off for their home opener is at 5 p.m. According to the athletic office, their will only be a varsity game.

The girls also play in the Rockdale High School Gymnasium on Tuesday evening against Giddings for a 5:15 start.
