RHS running back Cam’ron Valdez reigns as the new rushing king after breaking the RHS all-time rushing record on Friday against McGregor.
“It’s an amazing feeling to see your name on paper because nobody can ever take that away from you,” Valdez said. “It means everything. My linemen and I have worked hard, and it’s paid off. We are not done yet.” With his 97-yard perfor
With his 97-yard performance on Friday, Valdez has now acquired 3,433 yards in his RHS career. The former record held by Don Wesley, who played for Rockdale from 1975 to 1977 stood for over 40 years.
RHS Head Coach Jacob Campsey praised Valdez on the effort and fight he gives every time he touches the ball.
“I’m so proud of him for finally getting that record,” Campsey said. “He’s carried the rock for us for the last few years and plays with great toughness and intensity. I’m super happy for him.”
With five games left in the regular season, Valdez will look to add to his totals and be at the top of the record books for a long time. Valdez remains just two touchdowns away from breaking the RHS all-time touchdown record as well.
