Last week, the Texas Sportswriters Association included Rockdale’s Cam’Ron Valdez on their list of running backs, putting him as an honorable mention.
Valdez, who broke Rockdale’s record for total rushing yards this season, had 1,056 rushing yards this year alone with 17 touchdowns.
The Rockdale High School senior plans to continue his athletic and academic future at Texas Tech University in Lubbock in the fall.
