THORNDALE - The Thorndale Lady Bulldogs defeated the Granger Lady Lions 25-13, 25-19, 25-14 at the Bulldog Gymnasium on Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs were led at the net by Landri Leschber and Maddie Smith. Leschber had 12 kills and 10 assists. Smith had 12 kills with 11 digs. Landry Laywell was also a factor in Thorndale’s victory with 15 assists.

Earlier in the week, the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Mumford Lady Mustangs 25-19,25-19,21-25,25-16.

Thorndale was led by Leschber and Smith with play at the net, as well as all around play. Leschber had 20 kills, 13 digs, and 10 assists. Smith had 11 kills, 11 digs, 6 assists, and 5 blocks. Laywell led the Lady Bulldogs in assists with 20, and Maddie Flores had 9 digs.

The Lady Bulldogs are 7-1 behind the Thrall Tigers. They played Thrall on Tuesday. See next week’s issue for results.

Thorndale plays their next match at home against the Bartlett Lassies. They defeated the Lassies in the first week of district play 25-14,25-20, 25-15. Game time is at 1 p.m., Saturday.

MILANO - The Milano Lady Eagles defeated the Holland Lady Hornets, 23-25, 25-23, 25-19,25-19, for their sixth district win.

Sterling and McKenna Robertson were dominant at the net for the Lady Eagles with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Danni Shaw and Laynie Bastow were instrumental to their success, with 14 and 13 assists in their match on Saturday.

Earlier in the week, the Lady Eagles defeated the Bartlett Lassies in four sets, 25-22,23-25,25-15, 25-6.

The Lady Eagles won with strength at the net from the Robertson sisters. McKenna had 19 kills, and Sterling had 16 in their match on Tuesday, Sept.

25. Other Lady Eagles instrumental in their win were Bastow, who had 21 assists and 10 digs. Shaw had 16 assists and 10 digs.

Milano is 5-2 in district as of the Reporter’s Tuesday afternoon deadline.

They play their next match this Saturday at 1 p.m. in Thrall against the Tigerettes.

Thrall swept Milano in their first matchup of district play 23-25,23-25,12-25 on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and is the only remaining undefeated team in district 25-2A.
