Ryker Zinn (middle) signed a letter intent to pitch for Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport last Thursday. His parents Troy and Deana Zinn attended his signing at RHS. He is the second Tiger to sign with the school. “I’m super excited,” Zinn said. “Especially since I get to play with Zac (Davis) and know someone that I’ll get to be there with. I also thought the school was really nice when I visited. I really liked the community and the environment they had there and the coaches were good as well. My tuition also covers a trip to Paris in the fall and that was another big kick in making my decision.”

Rockdale High School athletic director Jeff Miller said of the left-handed, “I think the one intangible I see from kids who make it to the next level is the willingness to put in the effort and do the extra things. I saw Ryker and Zac up at the school a countless number of hours over the summer and they were working on things without being told to do them. That doesn’t automatically mean you’ll make it there, but Ryker excels in many areas including academics and his parents are big supporters in him getting here.”

In his four years as a varsity baseball player, Zinn has struck out a total of 112 batters in 103.1 innings pitched. This season, he has struck out 50 batters in 36 innings and will pitch next on Thursday in Franklin.
