Our Veterans Day program that was held at our high school Friday. It was such an honor to host our veterans in our school and to show students what real heroes look like.

The Rockdale ISD’s wonderful observance of Veterans Day is set for 10 a.m. Thursday in the high school gym.
Sunday is the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. Those two anniversaries are closely related.

Whatever the outcome was Tuesday (I’m writing this a week ahead of time), I am hopeful about our government for the first time in 20-plus years, which dates back to when H. Ross Perot ran for president.
He ran as a third party candidate back in 1992.
100 YEARS AGO....
Big news in The Reporter, and everywhere else, of course: “Germany Has Surrendered Unconditionally” marked the end of World War I. The surrender was signed on 5 a.m. Nov. 11 and went into effect at 11 a.m., French time.
Rockdale celebrated.

Responsibility is not a quality that we are born with, and it surely is not learned overnight.
Our children will not magically become responsible, so who is responsible for teaching responsibility?
MISD REPORT
Fall is a great time of the year. I really enjoy the change in the weather pattern where we leave the oppressive heat and walk out early in the morning to cool, crisp weather.
In the not to distant future we will have our first frost and prepare to transition to the winter months.
