EDITORIAL The Rockdale ISD’s wonderful observance of Veterans Day is set for 10 a.m. Thursday in the high school gym. Sunday is the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. Those two anniversaries are closely related.

100 YEARS AGO.... Big news in The Reporter, and everywhere else, of course: “Germany Has Surrendered Unconditionally” marked the end of World War I. The surrender was signed on 5 a.m. Nov. 11 and went into effect at 11 a.m., French time. Rockdale celebrated.

MISD REPORT Fall is a great time of the year. I really enjoy the change in the weather pattern where we leave the oppressive heat and walk out early in the morning to cool, crisp weather. In the not to distant future we will have our first frost and prepare to transition to the winter months.
