Fair Assn. scholarships available for area seniors

Milam County high school seniors who have shown projects and have met the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply for scholarships from the Rockdale Fair Association. The association has awarded over $10,000 annually in scholarship money to further their education.

Milam burn ban back in place

A burn ban for Milam County went into effect at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, after consulting with area fire chiefs. A violation of the ban is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.

Master Naturalists classes continue

Texas Master Naturalist Courses began on Jan. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Cameron. “If you are passionate about native Texas plants and animals you are welcome to joins us,” said organizer Linda Burgess.

One traffic accident reported by police

Accidents Officer Lentz responded to Walmart parking lot for a report that a vehicle was backed into while parked on January 29 at 4:35 p.m. Arrests RPD officers made one arrest over the past seven days for criminal trespass.
