Milam County high school seniors who have shown projects and have met the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply for scholarships from the Rockdale Fair Association.
The association has awarded over $10,000 annually in scholarship money to further their education.
A burn ban for Milam County went into effect at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, after consulting with area fire chiefs.
A violation of the ban is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
Texas Master Naturalist Courses began on Jan. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Cameron.
“If you are passionate about native Texas plants and animals you are welcome to joins us,” said organizer Linda Burgess.

Milam County Radio Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Odd number months, the club meeting is at Banda’s Mexican Restaurant. Even number months the club meets at Dairy Queen in Cameron.
