Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Jesus Eduardo Limas, 17, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Davis for possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone (less than 1 gram) and assault causes bodily injury/family violence.

Responded to: • 214 Boga along with Atmos Energy for a smell of gas on Feb. 4 at 7:44 p.m. • 352 North US 77 for a fire alarm on Feb. 5 at 12:34 p.m. but were unable to locate. • North FM 486 at FM 3061 for a downed tree on Feb. 7 at 7 a.m.

Spaghetti dinner band fundraiser

Rockdale Band Boosters will hold their annual Spaghetti Supper fundraiser on Monday, Feb. 10, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in the junior high commons. Tickets are $12 and plates include spaghetti, salad, rolls and a drink. Desserts made by band students will be available for sale.

First Friday Coffee at the library

Rockdale Homecoming Association is sponsoring First Friday Coffee at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library this Friday, February 7. All are welcome to attend from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

CASA needs volunteers; meeting slated

CASA of Milam County is in dire need of volunteers because of the high number of cases from Child Protective Services. Please consider volunteering and attending an informational meeting on February 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the CASA office, 105 S. Main Street.

—Last Thursday night there were two town halltype meetings in Rockdale at 6:30 p.m. Judge Bill Whitmire held one at the One Stop (top photo) regarding the possibility of moving the Tax Office to the Appraisal District providing an opportunity for input from the public.
