Accidents Ofc. Wall responded to a two-vehicle minor accident with no injuries near the 1200 block of West Cameron Avenue on Feb. 25 at 5:50 p.m. Calls for Service Rockdale Police Officers responded to 160 total calls for service during the past week including 106 for 911 emergency service.

FIRE CALLS

Responded to: • 814 Bushdale Road for a gas leak on Feb. 26 at 1:25 p.m. • Near the intersection of North Main Street and Elm Avenue for a gas leak on Feb. 26 at 6:13 p.m. • US 77 at US 79 for a one vehicle accident on February 28 at 9:30 p.m.

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. • Mark Anthony Delong Jr., 43, Lott, violation of bond/protec t ive order assault/stalking, released.

The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) announced the recipients of its annual Economic Excellence Recognition program for 2024. The awards were presented on Friday, February 28, during the TEDC’s 2025 Winter Conference in Austin.

Barbara Grayson is the Branch Manager for the Rockdale Federal Credit Union, Thorndale Branch. A 1976 Rockdale High School graduate, Barbara was in the third or fourth grade when she made the transition from the segregated Aycock school to Rockdale Elementary.

The Texas Historical Commission has recognized St. John’s United Methodist Church as a significant part of Texas history by awarding a Texas Historical Marker. A dedication ceremony to commemorate the event will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the church.
