Rockdale Junior High Art Teacher Lani Young is great about sending The Reporter art to use in the paper from her students. Normally they appear on the Editorial page, but these were so colorful we decided to showcase them on a color page.

National Day of Observance for Former President Jimmy Carter

A National Day of Observance has been declared to honor the death of former President, Jimmy Carter. The Postal Service will suspend regular mail deliveries, retail services and administrative office activity on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

New ambulance service starts Dec. 30th

Milam County Emergency Services District (ESD) No. 1 announced a new partnership with Allegiance Mobile Health, effective Dec. 30, to provide expanded emergency medical services across the county.

NEW OFFICES—A ribbon cutting was held last Wednesday for the newly-remodeled offices of Edward Jones at 715 W. Cameron Ave. where attendees enjoyed visiting and refreshments.

Autopsy ordered in woman’s death An autopsy has been ordered by the Milam County Sheriff’s Office in the death of an elderly Rockdale woman last Wednesday who was allegedly attacked by dogs while in her yard on Beverly Drive.

Some dips for the holidays

Kyle’s Kitchen Even though this edition of The Reporter is coming out before Christmas by just one day, last week’s issue was the real Christmas issue. Next week we are all making black-eyed peas, cornbread and some kind of greens for good luck and money in 2025, so let’s talk about dips this week.

Two felony arrests, one traffic accident reported by RPD

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests during the past week including: • Dillon Michael Wozniak, 28, Rockdale, was a r rested by Of t. Wachtel for possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram) and for disorderly conduct.
