The Milam County Historical Museum in Cameron and the Betty Martin Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) in Temple and Three Missions Chapter NSDAR in Cameron held a Milam County Historical Museum America 250!

Milam County 4-H students excel in district competition

Milam County 4-H member s showcased their skills and dedication at the District 8 Roundup and Consumer Decision Making Contest held on Friday, April 17, followed by the District 8 Horse Judging Contest on Saturday, April 18.
ROYALTY— At the RHS prom on Saturday, April 11, Jesse Montelongo and Yaretzi Hernandez were named Mr. and Miss Rockdale High School. RHS Principal Wendy Mahan and junior class parents want send a thank you to Run Florist Run for the bouquet, Rockdale Signs for the plaques and photos, Destinie Malish with RHS Floral Design for the sashes, DJ Anthony Cortez for keeping the energy high, TK United for the decorations and our RHS staff members for their support throughout the event.

Voting started Monday

Early voting started on Monday at City Hall Council Chambers to elect a new eastside city council member and two places on the RISD school board. John Lawhon and Nathan Flores vie for the eastside city council spot, and there are six people running for the two places on the school board.

St. Joseph’s hosts Mayfest on May 3

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is holding their Mayfest fundraiser for the first time since 2020 on Sunday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the KC Hall. Lunch begins at 11 a.m. and goes to 2 p.m. or until sold out.
