Murder charges filed after shooting victim dies

Rockdale Police investigators were notified by Bell County Justice of the Peace that shooting victim, Coby Ward, 28, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, had succumbed to his injuries and passed away. RPD officers immediately obtained a warrant for the arrest of Raymond James McBride Jr.

CORRECTION

In last week’s paper we quoted Victoria Otto as Chamber Board President which was a mistake. Otto resigned in December when her term expired, which we didn’t know at the newspaper. Lisa Juarez is currently acting board president until the board has their next meeting. The Reporter regrets the error.

Rockdale Police arrest two on felony warrants

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests dur ing the past week including: • Victor Montoya, 30, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Wachtel for burglary of a habitation. • Ernest Robertson, 64, Rockdale, was arrested by Sgt. Bielamowicz for a parole violation.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • First Baptist Church for a lift assist 4:31 p.m. April 7. • Ackerman at Elm Street for a gas leak at 2:19 p.m. • 309 Doss Drive for a fire alarm at 7:72 p.m. April 9. • 820 FM 1786 for a 4-wheeler rollover with injuries at 4:16 p.m. April 10.
