Pool to open on May 23rd

The City of Rockdale announced Veteran’s Park Pool will open for the 2026 summer season on Saturday, May 23. The pool will operate Tuesday through Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. through Labor Day.

Class of ’76 reunion to be held June 13th RHS Class of 1976 will hold its 50th Class Reunion on Saturday, June 13, at The Ranch in Rockdale starting at 5 p.m. The class will also be recognized at the Rockdale Homecoming luncheon on Sunday, June 14, beginning at 11 a.m.
SENIOR SIGNING DAY— All Rockdale High School seniors were recognized on Friday at the annual Signing Day ceremony. Each student was acknowledged for their after-high-school plans whether it was going into the work force, going into the military or heading off to college.

PARTY TIME— The MARC consumers enjoyed a Cinco de Mayo party last week at the center. MARC board member Daniel Willie grilled beef and chicken fajitas, Corona’s Mexican Restaurant provided rice and beans and Maricela’s Bar & Grill provided tortillas. The consumers played Loteria (Mexican bingo) for prizes and had a piñata. Dessert was Mexican ice cream pops.

Rockdale PD reports two felony arrests, four traffic accidents

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests dur ing the past week including: • Emanuel Castillo, 33 Thorndale, was arrested by Sgt. Richardson for parole violations. • Dalton Keith Hammond, 31, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • The 100 block of South FM 908 for a vehicle vs. pedestrian with injuries on My 2 at 5:38 p.m. • 1402 Highland Avenue for a residential fire alarm on May 4 at 7:29 p.m.
