Rockdale’s Sesquicentennial Celebration kicks off with a drone show and fireworks on July 4 at Fair Park. There will be food trucks, games and activities for kids and beer concessions by Rockdale Fair Association. At 9:30 a concert featuring The Outsiders will be performed in the pavilion.

Tickets available online for sesquicentennial dinner, dance

One of many sesquicentennial events is the dinner and dance party which will be held July 13 at the KC Hall from 6 to 11 p.m. The live musical act is Kenny Orts. Attendees may come dressed in their favorite era attire from 1874 to 2024 or can come as they are. This is not a fancy dress event.

Groundwater Summit July 18

The Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District will host the 10th Annual Burleson and Milam Counties Groundwater Summit on July 18 at the Caldwell Civic Center.

Two fundraisers are upcoming for the Rockdale Scrappers 15U softball team to help them with expenses for the State Softball Tournament in Axtell. Thursday night, June 27 Rockdale Pizza Hut will give the team 15% of all orders placed from 5 p.m. to closing if you mention this fundraiser when paying.
