Rockdale MDD had successful 2023

Jim Gibson, Rockdale MDD Economic Director, has a lot to be proud of looking back at 2023. Early last year groundbreaking began on the Cornerstone Subdivision and houses will start going up next month. He started Rockdale’s comprehensive plan which needed to change since growth is headed this way.

The bell tower of The 1895 was lifted on Tuesday to find out how much it weighs and to weld a spiral staircase inside. The tower weighs 84,700 pounds.

ORGANIZATIONS

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lions Club also meets at RVFD on the first and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.
