Perry & Perry Builders will be doing a test lift of The 1895’s Bell Tower on Friday, Dec. 22. During the test, the bell tower’s spiral staircase will be inserted from below and welded into place, while a final weight of the bell tower will be obtained.

ORGANIZATIONS

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lions Club also meets at RVFD on the first and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.

Hi. I’m Betsy. I lost my husband of 52 years, Cliff Dungan, to asbestos. He died from mesothelioma. He worked for Brown and Root at the Sandow Power Plant in Rockdale, Tx, from 74-75, then again from 78-81. Cliff operated a crane and was a boiler maker.

2023 Milam County Tree of Angels

Last week, our office held our annual Tree of Angels event here in Milam County. This is an event we hold every year in memory and support of people and families who have suffered from violent crime.

One felony arrest, seven accidents reported this week

Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Dailynn Ramey, 27, Rockdale, was arrested on Monday by Ofc. Wachtel for burglary of a building. Accidents • Ofc. Lentz responded to Tractor Supply parking lot for a two-vehicle accident with no injuries on Dec. 12 at 6:46 a.m.
