Rockdalians got serious with their spring cleaning on Saturday and filled up nine 30-cubicfoot containers with trash at city’s spring Stash Your Trash event at Fair Park. This equates to 36 tons of trash.

We have this blue Mason jar that sits on a shelf in our tiny Polly Pocket home. At the end of the day we put all our loose coins in that jar. In today’s culture we don’t use much cash so the jar has stayed pretty much at the same level for years now.

Milano Academic UIL competed in Brenham March 24. Advancing to regionals are the mathematics team and one member of the Science team. Congratulations to all students that competed. Academic contests don’t get the fans—or cheerleaders— but they need to be recognized.

The Rockdale Homecoming Association annual citywide homecoming will be Sunday, June 11 at the Patterson Civic Center. Rockdale High School Class of 1973 will be the honored class of 50 years. The Honored Business for 2023 is McVoy Grocery & Feed Store.
