Holliman-Tuma Reunion The 91st annual Holliman- Tuma Reunion will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at the American Legion Hall, 2534 N FM 487. A fully-catered barbecue meal with beef brisket and sausage and all the trimmings will be served at noon for $17 for adults.

We enjoyed friends at a nice gathering at the Well Spring Community Church Sunday. I am so blessed to still be able to say “I’m ready” when someone asks me if I want to go with them. I’m not getting an answer from those who usually have news for me.

MILANO NEWS

Some of you were blessed with a little rain. Over two days we got 0.15” at my house. I’m still thankful. School kicks off this week in Milano and I know everyone is excited to get back into a routine. Please be mindful of buses as they pick up and drop off the students.

O’Rourke draws crowds on Friday—for and against

Beto O’Rourke, the first Texas gubernatorial candidate to visit Rockdale since the late 1960s, was in town on Friday night and drew crowds both for him and against him at The Kay Theater.

Rotary scholarship winners

The Rockdale Rotary Club has started a new program this year giving $1,000 scholarships for continuing education.
