COMMUNITY BUILDER AWARD—Rockdale Masonic Lodge #414 is pleased to announce the recipient of this year’s Community Builder Award is Glenda Wiley. Ms. Wiley was presented this award on Friday May 6 in recognition of her many years of service to Rockdale and the surrounding area. Ms.
Rockdale Police Officers made four felony arrests during the past week including:
• Jessie Charles Mitchell, 40, Rockdale, was arrested by Sgt. Fain on a Milam County warrant for bond forfeiture/aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Rockdale VFD responded to:
• 325 North US 77 for a fire alarm that was then cancelled. A male had burned some food.
• A landing zone for PHI for a pedestrian vs. vehicle victim.
• West Cameron Ave. and Bowser for a utility pole leaning over.
Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron.
Charges may change during the process.
Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
• William Alan Bittle, 43, Temple, aggravated assault by public servant, sentenced to 10 years TDCHJ.

Alcoa retirees to meet June 9 in Thorndale
Rockdale Alcoa Retirees will hold a meeting on Thursday, June 9 at 5 p.m. at the Thorndale Veteran’s Memorial Hall.
The business meeting begins at 5:45 and then the election for officers.
Meals will be $15.
58th Appelt Reunion to be held June 5th
The Appelt Family will be celebrating its 58th reunion on Sunday, June 5, at Appelt's Hill Hall in Hal lettsville.
Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon.
