Reflections on an ‘amazing year’ at Rockdale Intermediate

What an amazing year it has been at RIS! I spent the weekend reflecting on the past year and can’t believe all we have accomplished. We began the school year and soon had to send home two grade levels because of COVID numbers. It honestly feels like this happened two years ago.

Rockdale Police make 3 arrests over the week

Rockdale Police Officers made three arrests during the past week including one each for no driver’s license, violation of bond/protective order and failure to identify/ giving false information.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • 821 Ackerman for traffic control for a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday. • Rockdale High School for smoke in a classroom on Thursday. • 1201 East Belton for a brush fire on Thursday. • US 77 to assist the Milam County Sheriff’s Office in searching for a subject on Friday.

JUNIOR HIGH MEDALISTS—Mason Lillard (L) and Brody Willard (R) were two of five gold medalists for Rockdale Junior High this past Saturday at Taylor High School. The pair won gold in eighth grade boys doubles division.

American Legion Turkey Shoot May 15 American Legion Post 358 will hold a turkey shoot on Sunday, May 15 at 2534 North FM 487. Food and drinks start at 11 a.m. with the shooting competition starting at noon. Twelve-gauge with maximum barrel length 32” including choke can be used. Ammunition provided.
