American Legion Turkey Shoot May 15

American Legion Post 358 will hold a turkey shoot on Sunday, May 15, at 2534 North FM 487, one mile past FM 1712 intersection on the right. Food and drinks start at 11 a.m. with the shooting competition starting at noon. Twelve-gauge with maximum barrel length 32” including choke.

Leadership program deadline May 9

Mental Health Services coming to Rockdale One Stop center

According to Milam County Judge Steve Young, within the next week or so, Central County Services (CCS) will open an additional mental health clinic in Rockdale at the One Stop.

HEADING TO STATE—Milam County 4-H members competed at the District Consumer and Fashion Contests on April 25 and did so well the senior team is advancing to state. Team members are Ryan Luckey, Marisol Hill, Tessa Vaculin and Hunter Hux.

THREE MORE SHOWS—Milam Community Theater to present the Bagheera Cast's production of "The Jungle Book." Performances are Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and again Sunday, May 8 at 3 p.m. at the Lester and Beatrice Williams Event Center located at 408 S. Columbus Avenue in Cameron.

Three felony arrests made by Rockdale PD

Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Abbigail Meredith, 19, Rockdale, was arrested on Tuesday by Sgt. Fain on two Milam County Sheriff’s Department warrants for terroristic threat against peace officer and bail jumping and failure to appear.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • East Cameron in front of Rainbow Courts for a two-vehicle accident with injury on Tuesday. • Quality Inn for fire alarm on Tuesday. • East Davilla and Green Streets for a three-vehicle accident. • 1308 Murray Avenue for an RV on fire on Friday.
