About 100 high school and junior high students participated in Rockdale Earth Day’s Day of Service on Friday. The Rockdale Rotary Club provided breakfast tacos for everyone involved and the kids lined up for breakfast, safety vests and gloves provided by Rockdale Earth Day.

Dozens showed up throughout the day for the Rockdale Police Department’s Family Funfest at Veterans Memorial City Park in town this past Saturday afternoon. Local children and even a few adults got to hang out in the bounce house, play Connect Four and eat hot dogs.

Darian “Hump” Jackson was welcomed home with a parade on Sunday with the Rockdale Fire Department leading the way in their big, red firetruck. Hump had been in the hospital since August of last year with encephalitis. He was then released into rehab and now he’s back home in Rockdale.
