Throwers raise $6,713 for Darian ‘Hump’ Jackson

Milam County Throwers (formerly known as Milam County Washer Throwers) held a benefit Sunday at the Rockdale VFW for Darian “Hump” Jackson, a 10-year-old boy who has been in the hospital with encephalitis since August 2021. The total raised was $6,713.

Salty Cemetery Assoc. meeting March 7th The Salty Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 7. The meeting will be held in the Salty Church Annex.

What a beautiful Monday morning. It is still a little cool, but it will warm up. March is here so it will probably be blowing the “March winds,” then a couple of more months down the road, it will be hot.

Milam County down to nine COVID cases

Our numbers continue to go down.  Today we have only s new cases to report, 9 cases to discharge leaving us with 9 active, confirmed cases in the County.  No new hospitalizations and new deaths.  Two individuals were tested in Rockdale today, but both were negative.

Texas WIC Adds Formula Options For Families Affected By Recall

Texas WIC is actively working with the USDA and Abbott, the makers of Similac, on the impact of the recent infant formula recall on families, and WIC has temporarily added more options.

Milam County has only 17 active, confirmed COVID cases

This evening we have 2 new cases to report and 2 cases to discharge leaving 17 active, confirmed cases in the County.  There were no new hospitalizations and no new deaths.
