WINNERS—On Saturday, February 19, several Rockdale High School Band members participated in the UIL Region 26/18 Band Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Smithville High School.

VFD annual fundraiser tickets on sale

The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual fundraiser at the KC Hall on April 23 from 5 p.m. to midnight. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. Ticket sales began on Feb. 14 and are $150 per couple.

Three arrested on felony warrants

Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Billy Charles Pearson, 57, Rockdale, was arrested by Officer Krejci on Thursday for a warrant for burglary of habitation, resisting arrest and tamper/fabricate physical evidence.

FIRE CALLS

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • 1226 Texas Street on Tuesday for a pasture fire. • Wilcox/Cameron for a two-vehicle accident with injuries blocking the roadway on Thursday. • 4980 North US 77 on Thursday for a two-vehicle accident near Minerva.

MILAM COUNTY JAIL LOG

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Over $53,000

Over $53,000 (including a $25,000 gift from the Ladies chili fundraiser on Saturday with more than 400 Auxiliary) was raised at the Milano Volunteer Fire Department attendees, some of them shown above.
