TREE LIGHTING—Whinstone employees are in the process of putting up Rockdale’s Christmas tree. This year’s Rockdale Downtown Association’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Wolf Park will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 18.

RHS focused on English with smaller classes

One of the major needs for Rockdale High School is improvement on our English Language Arts EOC exam scores. Improving the passing rate for RHS as well as increasing the number of students who reach the “Masters” level. This is a difficult test in which students across the state struggle.

BIG SUCCESS—Choo-Choo Chili was a big success this year and the Rockdale Historical Society sold out of the 30 gallons of chili cooked by Danny Marek by 1:30 p.m., the earliest they’ve ever sold out according to Historical Society member Pat Jackson.

Post Oak Savannah welcomes Fisher

On November 1, Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District welcomed Jeff Fisher as a Field Technician Contractor. Mr. Fisher is a Rockdale native who attended Rockdale High School. Jeff graduated Temple Junior College with an associate degree in Criminal Justice.
