Milam County has recouped all money from Thrasher clean-up

At Monday’s County Commissioners Court two residents with concerns about speeding gravel trucks on CR 204B near Buckholts made their cases that something needed to be done because there are children and older people who could be seriously injured.

Rockdale Ministerial Alliance to hold service The Rockdale Ministerial Alliance will hold a Thanksgiving service at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at First Baptist Church. Pastor Royal Johnson will deliver the message and afterward a light meal will be served.

SUCCESSFUL BENEFIT—The Milano Volunteer Fire Department held a fundraiser for Robert Whitmore on Sunday with pulled pork sandwiches and all the trimmings including dessert. Over 400 plates were sold and fellow firefighters from all over the state showed up to help.

Officer Parker made felony arrest Nov. 4th

Officer Catherin Parker of the Rockdale Police Department made a felony arrest during the past week. Arrested last Thursday on a local warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was Jeremy Johnson, 42, from Rockdale.

FIRE CALLS

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • A two-vehicle accident near 1714 FM 1712 on Friday. • A vehicle that hit a deer at US 79 and CR 335 on Saturday. • East US 79 across from CR 335 for a report of a fire. It was a controlled burn which had not been called in on Saturday.
