Homecoming dance set for Friday night Local churches, the school, the city and businesses are sponsoring a homecoming dance for RHS students on Friday at the Fair Park Pavilion from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Fair totals highest ever in 2021

Several 4-H and FFA students throughout Milam County got a big boost to their “going to college” funds at the Rockdale Livestock Show & Rodeo. Final results from the Rockdale Fair Association showed the 2021 Fair set records for both the youth livestock auction (totaling $622,123.

Court hears from glove company CEO

In Monday’s Commissioners Court the CEO of the American Statesman Glove Co., Bill Hart, gave more details about how the glove company operates.

Buddy Oney Toy Run to be held Dec. 4th

The 16th annual Buddy Oney Toy Run will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, at The Ranch starting at 9 a.m. The Bad to the Bone Riders sponsor this event each year and have raised over $94,000 for the less fortunate children of Milam County.

Farmers Market changes venues

The Rockdale Farmer’s Market at the Chamber wraps up their season on Saturday. But don’t fret, some of your favorite market vendors will begin setting up at “The Market at The 1895” on Burleson Street next to the Old City Hall starting Saturday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Red Ribbon Week at RIS

Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. It began as a tribute to fallen DEA special agent Enrique Camerena in 1985.

Meadowbrook Baptist Meadowbrook Baptist will have Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Due to social distancing and trying to protect everyone’s health, our trunk or treat will be outside with tables in the field by the fellowship hall.

First graders education

It is hard to believe that our first graders have almost completed the first twelve weeks at Rockdale Elementary School. We were so excited to start the year as close to normal as possible.
