Fair events start Saturday

Rockdale Fair and Rodeo is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Fair tickets are on sale now with three-day passes for adults for $30 and kids and seniors $20. The fair kicks off this Saturday with both the Children’s Pageant and Miss Rockdale Fair Queen Pageant.

The I&GN Depot in downtown Rockdale received the Dr. Lucile Estell Preservation Grant from Milam County Historical Commission which allowed the museum and weekend visitors center to purchase new decals for the caboose along with supplies for preserving the collections.

The RHS Class of 1970 celebrated its 55th reunion with a two-day event recently.

Davilla Community Center will host its 10th annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 11 from 5 to 9 p.m. Events include food, treats, cake walk, ring toss, corn hole, duck pond, bounce house, petting zoo, silent auction and a hayride. The community center is located at 20803 FM 487.
