As weather warms up more people will be near roadways

Now that spring is here more and more Texans will take to the streets, and TxDOT has an important message for both drivers and pedestrians: watch out for each other. State officials warn that pedestrian deaths are continuing to rise in Texas, and now account for 1 in 5 of all traffic fatalities.

MHS One Act Play advances to region

Milano High School One Act Play cast and crew have advanced again. The group was one of two advancing schools at the bi-district contest held Monday at Wilhelm Performing Arts Center in Bastrop. The company now advances to the Class 2A Region IV contest on April 12-13 in Corpus Christi.

Cool and dreary this Monday morning, but we know the weather can change in a second. Spring break has come and gone for the students and teachers. They are all probably counting the days now until summer vacation. The Dendy Brown Benefit/Ride Fundraiser will be held at Nat’s in Milano Saturday.

Rockdale Senior Center reopening April 5

The Rockdale Senior Center is open to all seniors 60 years and older starting April 5. To get on the waiting list, please call 512-446-2666 by March 29. Everyone who is able should wear a mask. If you are not on the Meals On Wheels list you will need to sign up.
