Wreck snarls traffic

A late-afternoon wreck Saturday on US 79 near downtown caused a detour while officers cleared the scene of the accident that sent one woman, complaining of neck pain, to a hospital. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene before the traffic flow could return to normal.

Easter is almost here, so what is going to be on your menu? I know we are having ham, but I’m not sure what the sides will be yet. Maybe there will be some good vegetables at the farmers market the day before. Roasted vegetables are always good as far as I’m concerned.

Gause VFD fundraiser scheduled April 10 The Gause Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual barbecue fundraiser on April 10 starting at 11 a.m. at the Gause VFD building at 110 E. Gause Blvd.

Sunrise service set at Liberty Community Church Liberty Community Church Easter Sunrise Service will be April 4. The service will start at 7 a.m. Anyone who wishes to may sit in their vehicle. There will be coffee and donuts served after the service.

TISD decides to stick with masks for students Superintendent Adam Ivy and Sara Sanders, the district’s nurse, discussed Gov. Greg Abbott’s recent lifting of the mask mandate at the Thorndale Independent School District board meeting March 15 in the administration building.
