Active COVID-19 down from 142 to 128

Active cases went down from 142 to 128 and one person was discharged from the hospital, according to County Judge's Steve Young's report Monday.  Fifty-two active PCR cases were taken off the active list and 76 antigen cases were taken off the active list.

Burn ban in effect

The Milan County Commissioners voted to set a burn ban throughout the county at a meeting Dec. 14. The ban is in effect until further notice.  

County COVID-19 cases at record high

There are thirty new positive cases to report:   11 new PCR cases and 19 antigen (probable) cases bringing the total cases to another record of 142 active cases in Milam County.    Friday there were 29 individuals in Buckholts tested with 6 positive results.

COVID-19 claims 10th life in Milam County

"I am saddened to report another death of a Milam County resident due to COVID. This brings our death toll to 10. In addition, we have a record 34 new positive cases to report;16 PCR cases and 18 antigen (probable) cases.

20 new cases found in Wednesday COVID-19 testing

There are 20 new positive cases to report; 5 PCR cases and 15 antigen (probable) cases.  Forty-three individuals in Milano were tested with 21 positive results.  In the past 18 days of testing, Milam County has tested 655 individuals with 166 positive results with a positivity rate of 25%.

Chamber pulls plug on the Trail of Lights plan

Amid concerns of the rising COVID case count in Milam County, the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce has decided it would be best to cancel the Trail of Lights. On Friday, Milam County Judge Steve Young reported an increase of 77 new cases for the past week.

Rate of COVID-19 infections in county climbs

It was another long day Tuesday in a week of long days concerning COVID-19. Out of 68 people tested Tuesday, 19 tested positive. In the past week the county has tested 581 people with 139 testing positive for a rate countywide of 24 percent. There were also four people admitted to hospitals Tuesday.

The ACE/iTiger program has wrapped-up its fall semester in Rockdale. Teachers have worked hard to help students increase grades and have a better understanding of subject matters.
