Public hearing set for draft version of regional water plan

The Region G Regional Water Planning Group (Brazos G) will hold a public hearing on the 2026 Initially Prepared Plan (IPP) on Tuesday, May 6, at 10 a.m. at the Brazos River Authority’s Central Office, located at 4600 Cobbs Drive in Waco.

Senior Center needs help

When the price of the HOP Bus went from $4 to $8 recently, it was cost prohibitive for some seniors to come to the Senior Center, according to center director Carolyn Cooper. Cooper is asking for help from the public for donations for both food and transportation.

Gause VFD holds BBQ fundariser

Gause Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Barbeque and Silent Auction fundraiser on Saturday, April 5 at the fire station from 11 a.m. until sold out. Plates are $15 and include brisket, sausage, potato salad, beans, bread, pickles, onions, barbecue sauce and dessert.

Blacksmith demo to be held April 5

Abe Doss will demonstrate historical blacksmithing skills at the I&GN Railroad Depot on Saturday, April 5 from 1-4 p.m. Doss will demonstrate artistic blacksmithing and talk about the process. The Depot’s blacksmith shop is a replica of what an early 1900’s shop would look like.
