MISD REPORT
Our board of trustees annual election will take place Saturday. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Please come out and exercise your right to cast your ballot. We have three candidates running for two positions, John Yakesch, Shawn Walton and Amanda Cain.
EVENTS—Last week was very busy.
We held our annual volunteer banquet last Monday. The support we receive from countless individuals is awesome and it is great to be able to give back and recognize them for their contributions.
We sent our boys golf team and two girls to the regional golf tournament in Corpus Christi.
The boy’s team, consisting of Kaleb Dodd, Mason Westbrook, Coby Doelitsch, Tucker Taylor and Noah Benavides finished sixth out of 12 teams.
Faith Walton and Mary Brown represented the girls at the tournament and played very well.
Our girl’s softball team played very well in dispatching Flatonia in the bi-district playoff game.
They will play Normangee in the area round Thursday in Franklin.
The boy’s track team captured the regional championship for the second straight year in Kingsville.
We will have six competing at the state track meet in Austin on May 12.
Come out and support these young men in their quest to capture state.
