CELEBRATING THE ARTISTS

These five Rockdale Junior High students are the winners of the Sesquicentennial Committee’s request for t-shirt designs commemorating Rockdale’s 150th anniversary. All five students’ designs will be used on commemorative shirts which will be available to purchase. Front row (L-R) are Cateleya Rangel, Roan Obando-Rangel, Leyla Murray, Paisley Fisher and Varenice Rivera. In the back row are assistant principal Yesenia Rodriguez, art teacher Lani Young, assistant principal Hudson Evans and Geri Burnett from the sesquicentennial committee. As a surprise that no one knew about, Geri Burnett presented each student with a $100 bill donated by an anonymous donor.
