Rising Star to celebrate 113 years on Sunday
Rising Star Baptist Church will hold it’s annual anniversary a little differently this year.
On Sunday, at 9:45 a.m. there will be a celebration on their Facebook page sharing pictures and memories. At 10 a.m. there will be a drivein and livestream worship celebration, and at 3 p.m. they will hold a 113th anniversary celebration on Facebook.
Donations can be made on the Rising Star website or you may send it to PO Box 125 in Rockdale.

JCLDS annual food drive to be held Sept. 23
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will conduct their annual food bank drive starting on Sept. 23.
They will be hanging bags on doorknobs that day and will pick up the filled bags on Sept. 26.
Also on Sept. 26 there will be trucks located at Walmart, Brookshire Brothers and Dollar General taking donations as customers leave the stores.
New Hope celebrating 128th anniversary
New Hope Missionary Baptist Church is celebrating their 128th anniversary.
The celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 27.
