The first of two May visits to the KC Hall parking lot Thursday by the Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) served 600 persons in 271 households.
That total included 36 individuals in 36 households, Pam Warren, Rockdale Christian Services chair, said.
Warren noted CTFB distributions in Cameron and Taylor have been canceled for May and added:
“We encourage all in need of food resources to come to the KC Hall parking for our next distribution Thursday, May 21, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Warren said each box contained “shelf-stable food” including about five pounds of meat and a bag of apples.
Clients remained in their vehicles and protocols were observed, she said.
The first wave of distribution was approximately 1 hour to clear the parking lot. Everyone after that simply drove into the parking lot & around the KC Hall to distribution point.,” Warredn said. “We had food for all with food left over, returned to CTFB-Austin to be used in other regions).
