Elementary

Wednesday—Staff luncheon; Student early release at noon for parent-teacher conferences.

Thursday–Second grade PLC meeting during Special Programs time.

Friday—Distribution of Pack Pal bags.

Reminders—When bringing children to school arrive between 7:30 and 8 a.m. The school’s main door on Belton Avenue will be open. Don’t drop off students at any other location.

When picking up children in afternoon:

• Pre-K students are released on Belton Avenue.

• Kindergarten is released on Bowser Street.

• Walkers will be released following car riders.

• Any changes for your child’s way home must be made by 2:45 p.m.

Note: Parents/guardians entering the building just enter the main entrance on Belton Avenue and report to the office. Please have your photo ID available for school safety reasons.

Junior-High

Wednesday—Special classes PE; Leo Club meeting, 7:15 a.m.; student early release, noon, professional development; Campus Educational Council, 4:30 p.m.

Thursday—Regular schedule.

Friday—Regular schedule; faculty meeting, 7 a.m.; PLC math/ELAR-STAAR Date Analysis; Failure is not an Option, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Reminders—If you are absent you need to bring a note the to the office the next day to get an admit slip. It does not matter if you are absent one period or all day, you still have to bring a note or it will be an unexcused absence.

Intermediate

Wednesday—No special classes; student early release , noon, teacher-parent conferences.

Thursday—No special classes; third grade math benchmark; fourth grade math benchmark.

Friday—All specials music; Jump Rope for Heart kickoff day; gifted and talented meeting, 2 p.m., Room D3, fifth-grade hall; progress reports sent home.

Reminders—Have your child’s name and a “happy birthday” message on the electronic marquee in the front of the building. Parents must turn in form and $10 at least one week prior to birthday.

All transportation forms must be turned in to the office 9 a.m. each day.

Parents must call the office by 2:15 p.m. when making changes.

RHS

Wednesday—Regular schedule.

Thursday—Regular schedule.

Friday—Regular schedule;Rotary Interact Meeting, 7:30 p.m., RHS Library.

Reminders—Volunteer and Service Hour sheets, as well as NHS Community Service Hour sheets available in the office. Volunteer opportunities are posted outside the office.

Students signed up to take the ACT in Rockdale Saturday (Feb 8) must bring your ticket with you. See Mrs. Ingram or Mrs. Windham if you need help

Yearbook staffers are selling bottles of water for $1 during passing period.

Juniors are selling candy bars until Feb. 14 as a prom fund-raiser. All juniors who plan to attend the prom must sell chocolate.

ACT and SAT school day registration is now open. If you would like to take the ACT or SAT during the school day on March 24 or 25, see Mrs. Ingram to sign up. Deadline to register for both tests is Feb. 12.

Primary elections are coming up in March. If you are 16 or older, have a valid driver’s license and are interested in working the elections, see Mrs. Neal after school.

Sophomore or junior students who would like to go on a six-day leadership training, sponsored by the Rotary Club, can get applications in the office.

Students wanting to register for driver education or the Feb. 22 field trip to Inner Space Caverns, should sign up with Mrs. Langford before or after school in the library.

Students should report to bus stop 5 minutes before pickup; observe all bus rules to insure safety; don’t park on bus loading zones on all campuses or bus routes.

Rockdale ISD

Thursday—RISD Substitute Training, 9 to 10 a.m., Central Administration Building Board Room, 520 West Davilla.

Feb. 13—School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC), 4 p.m. intermediate library.

Rockdale P-TO

The Parent-Teacher Organization (P-TO) is looking for active members. Forms are available on the RISD website or ask at principals’ offices.

Next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the junior-high commons.
