MILAM 4-H NEWS
Milam County 4-H was represented well at the recent Texas 4-H Roundup at Texas A&M University.
A total of 28 competed or participated in the three-day event.
Eight Product ID participants competed and placed well.
Robert Miller, Jenna Frias, Jessica Yount, and Kaleb Yount made up the intermediate team and placed eighth.
Abby Miller, Grant Widner, Scott Widner, and Gabriel Ramthun were the senior team and placed ninth. Grant Widner placed 10th individually.
Thank you to Cindy Widner and Jocelyn Ramthun for coaching the team.
The Plant ID team competed and placed second. Neeraj Bhakta, Kassidy Hundle, and Mason Lindig made up the senior team who won. Neeraj won second place individually.

Bradley Bakken competed in the invitational archery contest and was fifth.
One intermediate and two senior teams competed in the healthy lifestyles contest.
Robert Miller, Vaughn Kostroun, Wylie Barrett, and Marisol Hill competed as intermediates and won third place and Hill placed third individually.
Rebecca Kostroun, Grant Widner, Scott Widner, and Abbigail Miller placed third as a senior team and Kostroun placed eighth individually.
The other senior team consisted of Kassidy Hundle, Sydney Vaculin, and Gabriel Ramthun.
Milam County 4-H members also competed in the invitational livestock judging contest and won ninth place team overall.
Those intermediates included Kennedy Hobbs, Mason Leifeste, and Stiles Patin.
Thank you to Kelly Cooper and Elizabeth Miller for coaching healthy lifestyles and Taylor Shear for coaching the livestock judging teams.
Congratulations to our seniors on receiving scholarships. Chandler Barton and Patrick Dean received a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship, Caitlin Garcia received a Richard Wallrath Educational Fund Scholarship, and Neeraj Bhakta received a Fort Worth Syndicate Scholarship.
We also want to congratulate Neeraj Bhakta on working hard all year long to help make Texas 4-H Roundup possible while serving on the Texas 4-H Council.
