Milano Volunteer Fire Department’s annual chili supper set for Saturday at the fire station. Serving begins at 4:30 p.m. until sold out. Prices are $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under, with those two and under eating free.
There will be a live band, as well as live and silent auctions. The event will conclude with the drawing of 10 big prizes on the group’s annual fundraiser. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. You need not be present to win. All prizes received in Academy gift cards.
Prizes include: two Henry Golden Boy 22 LR, two Taurus Public Defender .45/410, Remington 700.270, Marlin 336W 30-30, Remington 870 Shotgun, Ruger American Bolt Action 22LR, Taurus 738 TCP 380 and $100 Academy gift card.

KNIGHT FUNDRAISER— The seventh annual Knight Family Scholarship volleyball fundraiser will be held Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Geneva Paceley Gym. Cost is $30 per player. Non-players can purchase shirts for $15. To watch the tournament, cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids. There will be a full concession stand on site. Registration forms may be submitted the day of the event, but T-shirts will not be guaranteed, as supplies will be limited. PROJECT GRADUATION— Milano’s Project Graduation will host a chicken dinner on March 18 at the KC Hall in Rockdale. Serving starts at 11 a.m. and plates are $10 each. Meals include ½ chicken, green beans, German noodles, dessert and tea. There will also be a silent auction at the events. Plates are available for dine in or take out.
Project Graduation is also selling tickets on a grill package. The package includes an Oklahoma Joe’s Highland 879 sq. in. charcoal horizontal smoker, grilling accessories, spices and $50 in meat money. Drawing will be held at the March 18 dinner. Tickets are available from any Milano High School senior or parent of MHS senior.
CROSSROADS MISSION TRIP—Crossroads Bible Church in Rockdale is sponsoring another mission trip to Guatemala this summer to provide food, clothing and medical support to people living in very primitive communities. This year’s group includes 20 volunteers from Rockdale, Thorndale and Gause.
In order to raise funds for the projects planned, they will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb 24 at the church, 193 N FM 487 in Rockdale. Items will include adult and children’s clothes and shoes, household items, tools, décor and lots more. They will also serve a sausage wrap meal for a $5 donation to the trip.
