The new school year is ready to start on Monday, Aug. 20. We have a great group of seniors.
It has been a very busy summer. Our maintenance and custodial departments have been stripping and waxing floors, moving classroom equipment from room to room, completing painting and renovation projects.
The staff is working feverishly to get classrooms and schools ready for the first day of school. Staff development for all teachers gets underway this week and continues through next week.
Administrators have spent countless hours in screening and selecting new personnel, putting together the master schedule, providing summer school as well as fulfilling requirements regarding their professional development hours.
About a year and half ago we completed construction of our facilities from the bond issue.
The junior high building, vocational agriculture facility and the addition at the elementary all look great.
While these facilities will serve our children for years to come, we still have facilities we would like to improve.
We are installing new bleachers on the home side of the football stadium. Concrete work is to begin this week with the bleachers and new press box to be completed by Labor Day.
Our first home football game is Sept. 7.
At the elementary gym we have taken out the bleachers and are putting in a new floor and will have a larger surface area for our PE program.
SAME TAX RATE—We will have a budget workshop Thursday, August 9th and will have a public hearing as well as adopt the budget and tax rates Aug.23rd.
Our finances were significantly helped by the passage of the tax ratification Election in September, 2015.
The proposed tax rates will remain unchanged.
