NEW HOME—A pair of brick monument signs welcoming motorists to Rockdale have stood at opposite ends of US 79 for four decades. They will still do that, but a different locations. One has been placed in the Rockdale Skate Park (above) on FM 487 just south of the Union-Pacific overpass. The other is joining a pair of historic bridges at Bridge Park on East Cameron (US 79), again near the tracks. The old signs have been superseded by new welcome structures.
