About 150 people came to Wolf Park on Thursday evening to enjoy Rockdale Earth Day’s A Night of Peace celebration.
Rockdale Earth Day Chairman David Melton gave the welcome address followed by a reading on peace by Rockdale High School students.
Leah and Lee Sparky” Thomason performed a flute and trumpet duet of “Let There Be Peace On Earth.”
John Pruett delivered a “A Prayer For Peace,” after which the speaker for the evening, Reverend Janice Krause gave her speech, “A Peace Homily.”
Carolyn Shirley read “A Prayer for the Human Family.”
A moment of silence was held in remembrance of Cameron Police Sgt. Joshua Lee Clouse who was killed in the line of duty earlier this year on May 11, as well as Jeffrey McKinney Jr. who was killed in Rockdale on April 28.
Presentations were made by Rita Gameiro.
“Create Love” was performed the KCD Band.
