A reminder that there will be no celebration of the “stars and stripes” in our town this year. The Milano City Council decided to cancel the annual July 4th parade and community meal for this year. The event was the only one of its kind in the area. The cancellation is due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
JONES FUN RUN CANCELED—Another area annual event that has been canceled is the Melodie Hope Jones Memorial Scholarship Fun Run that usually happens in September. Organizers are still looking to raise money with some type of fundraiser at a later date for next year’s scholarship.
FREE MEALS—Milano ISD is offering free summer meals for students 18 years old and younger through June 30.
