MCT Youth Theater changes due to virus

CAMERON—the Milam Community Theater Board has decided to delay the opening of “Aladdin, Jr.” until a date to be determined.

In addition, according top Pixie Schneider, spokesperson, auditions for “Steel Magnolias,” originally scheduled March 23 and 24 are canceled, she said.

New show and audition dates will be released once decided.

The tentative plan for the immediate future is to push performances to later dates.

“Steel Magnolias is expected to be pushed to June, Nunsense–The Musical will be in late August and The Odd Couple will hopefully run on the original dates in November,” Schneider said.

“We will make sure to keep you up to date on all decisions as they are made,” Schneider said.

Texas Tornadoes set fund-raiser

“The Texas Tornadoes of Lee County” are raising funds to build The Blue Branch Arena in Blue.

“As this facility progresses, our goal is to create a facility that is available to the surrounding communities for rodeos, ropings and other equine related events as well as a meeting room and grounds available for lease for public and private events,” according to Brooke Miller of the Equestrian Drill Team.

They will host a fundraiser which includes 15 heifers and four guns, totaling seven prizes awarded.
