San Gabr iel Chr istian Church is the oldest congregation in Milam County. An EF-0 tornado ripped through Milam County on April 6, 2019 with winds up to 85 miles per hour, taking off the roof of the church and causing extensive damage. Generous members of the community, former and current congregants, and a host of organizations donated time and funds to repair the church.
On March 28, 2021, the church held a rededication of the beautifully repaired sanctuary. It now celebrates standing 100 years in Milam County.
A 100 Year Celebration of San Gabriel Christian Church’s sanctuary will be held July 28.
Worship Service begins at 11a.m. in the sanctuary, followed by a meal in the Family Life Center, and the anniversary service with music and speakers. RSVP by July 4 by leaving a voicemail or texting your name and response to 512517-2972.
