THORNDALE—The 28th annual Thorndale Barbecue Cookoff will unreel Friday and Saturday, June 22-23 with cooking, dances, a softball tourney, arts and crafts and more.

Preceding the big cookoff by a day will be the annual Thorndale Revue beauty pageant set for Thursday, June 21, at the Thorndale High School cafeteria

There will be dances in the Thorndale City Park Pavilion both nights.

Texas Unlimited opens for Kevin Fowler Friday, June 22. That dance is set for 8 p.m. to 12-midnight with a fireworks show at 9:30.

Saturday, June 23 Snake River Red opens for Josh Ward.

That dance is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

BBQ—Barbecue cooking is throughout the day June 23.

Opening ceremonies, with the new Miss Thorn-dale and her court are set for 11:30 a.m. in the pavilion.

The Fireman’s Auxiliary Turkey & Dressing Dinner will be held inside Fireman’s Hall

Arts and crafts and food booths will be open all day

A 42 tourney will be held inside air-conditioned Fireman’s Hall with registration from 10 to 11 a.m. and competition at 11 a.m.

Washer pitching registration is 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with competition beginning at noon.

Horseshoe pitching registration is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with competition starting at 1 p.m.

The annual softball tourney is June 22-24 at the adjacent softball fields
