—Over 220 persons attended the fifth annual Milam-Burleson Groundwater Summit last Wednesday in the Caldwell Civic Center. Speakers included Toya Jones (right) who said a new Carrizo-Wilcox Groundwater Availability Model (GAM) covers 80 years while the previous model covered only 20. Past Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District directors Nathan Ausley and Kerry Starnes were honored for 17 years of service and past general counsel Barney Knight for 16 years. Attendees were reminded Thursday is the district’s rainwater harvesting and well water testing date. Take samples to extension offices in Cameron or Caldwell by 1:30 p.m.
