Connect Church announces the official launch of public worship services every Sunday, starting Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. in the Rockdale Elementary School Gym located on Bowser Street.

Under the direction of Bill Torrey, the Milam County District Attorney, the following felony cases were recently resolved in Judge John W. Youngblood’s 20th Judicial District Court:

Houser receives the keys to new home with HOME program

Ollie Dean Houser is the owner of a brand-new home at 1200 Highland by using the City of Rockdale’s HOME program which helps Rockdale residents get new homes by tearing down their current home and building a new one. What is the HOME program?

About three weeks ago, Sandow Lakes Ranch announced the development of a new 3,300-acre industrial park, the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Center (AMLC). If you drive out there, you can see where they are clearing land and starting the dirt work. But, please, stay on the public property.

Storytime

Storytime at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library happens every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pre-K and up are welcomed. Volunteers and staff read to the kids, and there are other activities as well.

SLR to implode Units 4, 5

EXPLOSIONS COMING SOON— Sandow Steam Electric Station Units 4 and 5 will be demolished in a series of carefully controlled implosions over the next few months. The first will probably occur within the next three weeks according to sources at SLR.

Substitute teachers training to be held September 7th

Mandatory training for all new RISD substitute teachers will be held Thursday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 12-noon at the Rockdale ISD Conference Center at 1205 Murray Ave. This training will include processes for the automated substitute service system Rockdale ISD has implemented.

Murray Cemetery meeting Sept. 16th

Murray Cemetery Association will hold their annual business meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Lee’s Landing. The public is invited to attend.
