The 22nd annua l MARC Ride, which funds MARC, is scheduled for June 10 at The Ranch. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and there will be a live auction after the ride at 4 p.m. with a meal provided for the riders.

Summer aviation fun at the airport Are you interested in aviation? Kent Givens and Jimmy Cox will hold get-togethers on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. throughout the summer for both adults and kids. “We’ll talk about airplanes and maybe even go flying,” Givens said.

City Pool at Veteran’s Memorial Park held their opening weekend and from the looks of t hings t he opening had been highly anticipated. Entry fee is $5 or a $45 pass for 45 visits can be purchased at City Hall or at the pool.

Family and friends await their graduates on Friday night at Tiger Field. The ceremony started at 8 p.m. and there was a packed house cheering on each grad.

Otto receives Masters in Biblical Counseling

Victoria Otto and family, of Lexington, attended her commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14, for Dallas Theological Seminar y along with 314 graduates. She completed the requirements for DTS's Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling degree in December 2022.

Appelt Family Reunion to be held June 4th The Appelt Family will be celebrating its 59th reunion on Sunday, June 4, at Appelt’s Hill Hall in Hallettsville. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch of stew, sausage and assorted side dishes will be served at noon.

Retired deputy Retchloff dies

Retired Deputy Sheriff Ted Retchloff, 75, of Rockdale died Monday. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 1. A full obituary will be in next week’s paper.

Summer reading club for adults, children begins June 7 at library
