On Jan. 9, Trail Life troop TX-1516 met at Meadowbrook Baptist Church for their Court of Honor where the boys receive awards and recognitions for all of their hard work so far.

First Friday Coffee to be held at library

The Milam County Genealogical Society will host the February First Friday Coffee this Friday, Feb. 3. Enjoy snacks and visit with the attendees from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library.

Rotary Casino Night set for Saturday

The Rockdale Rotary Club will host their annual ninth annual Casino Night fundraiser on Saturday at The Ranch, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available from Rotary Club members and are $50 each. Each ticket gets attendees two drink tickets, $5,000 in chips and an entry into a cash drawing.

SPORTS BANQUET

The Fall Sports Banquet was held at the Rockdale High School gym on Monday night. Among the award winners was Ciara Miles, above, who won Cross Country Girls Runner of the Year. 

Youth baseball fundraiser February 25th

The Rockdale Youth Baseball Association will hold their annual chili fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 25, at The Ranch, starting at 11 a.m. There will be both a live and a silent auction. Items are still being collected, according to association president Bobby Joe Tindle.

Fair Association Scholarship deadline set

The Rockdale Fair Association has the 2023 RFA Scholarship available. Students wishing to apply should see their Milam County high school counselor or the Milam County 4-H extension office for a copy of the application. Applications must be postmarked April 1.

Three felony arrests, two traffic accidents during the past week

Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Fred Hanhart, 42, Rockdale, was arrested on Tuesday by Ofc.
